Lambda Chapter
HISTORY OF LAMBDA CHAPTER
Osceola McCarthy Adams, one of Delta Sigma Theta's beloved Founders, planted the first Delta seed in Chicago. In 1919, Lambda Chapter was organized at the University of Chicago. Under her capable leadership, Lambda's membership swelled to such great proportions so as to necessitate the formation of another chapter. Thus, the second seed in the form of Theta Sigma Chapter came into existence.
Lambda was designated as the Chicago undergraduate chapter in 1931 by Delta Sigma Theta's Grand Chapter. Maintaining an eighty-one year tradition of Delta in Chicago, Lambda continues to serve the community as the divine founders envisioned.
